Porta Porta, established in 1993, is one of Singapore’s earliest halal Italian dining experiences, founded by a husband and wife team inspired by five years in Carrara, Italy. Starting with Italian cooking classes and later evolving into a small kitchen along Upper Changi Road, Porta Porta, which means "door to door" in Italian, has grown into a beloved halal Italian restaurant known for its warm, homestyle atmosphere and art-filled space. Dedicated to serving authentic Italian flavours using halal-certified ingredients, Porta Porta has introduced countless Singaporeans, especially within the Malay community, to classic dishes like pasta, lasagna and gnocchi. Despite challenges in sourcing and staffing, their passion remains unchanged, and they continue to welcome both Muslim and non-Muslim guests to enjoy heartfelt Italian meals made with love.
